The story begins prior to the birth of Jackie and is narrated by Dillon and Rachel, children living on their family land, the Homeplace. Dillon is Rachel's younger cousin, and Jackie is most likely their child. The three main narrators are Dillon, Rachel, and Jackie who are all family. The Unquiet Earth is a novel written from the perspective of multiple narrators. It was published in 1992 and won the W.D. The typography and paneling are beautifully done, capturing the essence of the Magic Tree House. Jack and Annie come alive in the illustrations, which depict much of the action. I was instantly transported back to my second grade self, devouring one after another. Opening this book reminded me of the first time I read the series. In this first installment, meet Jack and his sister Annie as they discover the tree house, its magical books, and go on their first adventure. Here, Jenny Laird has adapted it to a graphic novel, giving it a modern upgrade but keeping all the classical fantasy adventure elements that made the series so popular. This careful planning and analysis saves me a wealth of time. Journaling my entire month takes about six hours. With this information I can monitor my performance, see where I've fallen behind, then pay more attention in the future. If we look at my month of January above, I missed 21 of the 744 hours which is clearly outlined in my monthly report. This means the Montdore fortune will go to cousin Cedric, a Canadian – who turns up in Paris, and proceeds to charm his ageing Aunt and indeed everyone with his gay ways. Then, after the death of her aunt, Polly shocks everyone by saying she is going to marry her Uncle – instant disinheritance ensues. Meanwhile the Montdores are beginning to despair about Polly who should have been married by now, you can’t remain a debutante for several years. The book is aptly named as it does indeed have a bad beginning.
